Hyperaccumulation of Elements in Marine Organisms
index

Dr. Brooks first used the term of "Hyperaccumulator"

(We coined the term hyperaccumulator to describe plants containing
>1000 ug/g (0.1%) nickel in dry material. This term is not completely arbitrary as it represents a concentration about 100 times greater that the highest values to be expected in non-accumulating plants. -cited from 'Plants that Hyperaccumulate Heavy Metals' edited by R.R.Brooks-CAB INTERNATIONAL 1998).

Since the Ni hyperaccumulators do not usually contain over 0.1% of nickel (for example, in case of transplantation to uncontaminated area), I think that "Hyperaccumulator" should be selected, base on the comparison of elemental concentration among other species.
